Decent work. My only real complaint is in the intro and the theme that starts at :55 seconds in. Although the melodies are just fine, you're only filling two layers of sound space. Fill out those chords with some heavy bass instruments of even some mid range instruments, or if you only wish to have the upper space playing, it still needs to be full of some notes that aren't just doubled. Hope that helps and as a piece of advice for the future, don't become too reliant on patterns in cinematic music. Good work though. Good luck!

thank you so much for the tips! I made this on garageband so im still experimenting with how music works lol. and yea i agree that the intro and the theme did seem a bit awkward lol. thanks again!

You are a brilliant composer, and this is no exception. I have always followed you and your work, and you have always inspired me. Keep up the good work.

There is little I can say in review of this piece with the exception of that it is beautiful.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

Thank you for the kind words and the continued support. =)

I'm honestly not much for jazz, but this is entertaining to say the least. Well done! :D

I like it! I found myself moving to the rhythm without meaning to. It does however need some vocals. Some parts are just too... empty I guess for lack of a better word. Vocals would perfect it. Good job though!

KittenBeat responds:

Thanks for the review. I'm glad that you enjoy it <3

Incredible

You sir are a musical genius. This piece makes me want to cry, but in a good way. It's a "bittersweet end" sort of song. The voices and strings blend perfectly with the piano.

Plus, I have to say that you are incredible. I discovered you through the whole HoT thing, and as an aspiring composer, I want you to know that you have my utmost respect. Thank you for sharing your music with me and the rest of the world.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

You're absolutely very welcome, and I also want to thank you for the support. It really does keep me going in what I do, and I know a day will come when you'll know what I mean when I say that.

Thank you again. =)

Very nice

Zelda is the best, as we all know. This was a good remix. My only complaint is the parallelism that occurred between the techno beat and the melody for the first half of the song. Work on counter melodies and this will be fantastic. :D Great work.

Beautiful!

This is an amazing piece. The contrast between the two different styles is perfect. And the dissonance is well done too! The quiet parts remind me of Halo a bit, and I love it. Gives me a sort of spaced out feeling. The only reason I didn't give you a 10 was sometimes the bass in the piano was too low which made it hard to distinguish which pitch it was exactly. Great work and just for the record I love long epic songs.

mauiboynokaoi responds:

This was one of the very few longer songs I made. I make music mainly to listen to throughout the day and listening to the same piece for more than 4 minutes isn't usually what I want. Still thanks for the input :3

Well I'm not much for overly happy music...

And this has a definite happiness to it. But it's not really bad at all. Sort of reminds me of the old sonic games. I think a different tone for the flute would suit it a little better instead of so... poppy? Yeah I'll use that word. Maybe a little more mellow. And the piano and bass are fantastic.

mauiboynokaoi responds:

I'll think about adding strings instead. It's just that the flute layered really well with the piano and gave it a kind of echo effect and I was too lazy to copy/paste a bunch of stuff to a new voice LOL. I'll reupload if I do change it though :P

I like it!

I think it's great. I agree with you that the beat isn't that complicated really. People have just seemed to dumb down music. The only real problem that I see is the guitar noise is just slightly annoying. Plus I had sound isolating earbuds in and when that came in it was really loud and made me jump. O.o But really great work.

mauiboynokaoi responds:

There is the problem of the dist. guitars sounding a bit off, but it was meant to be a sequel to a song I made using almost strictly that E. Guitar voice so I felt it wrong to put everything on dark piano :P

Pretty Good Stuff

you have here. The violin sounds great. And it gives the whole 'war feel'. The drums I think are a little too quiet. It would give a more violent feel to it if the drums were louder. The only other criticism is that it's kind of repetitive. Other than that, it's great. Check out my stuff and let me know what you think! :)
